It’s no secret that coupons can help you save money; the problem usually lies in finding these coupons. Sometimes you get lucky and come across a great coupon, but luck doesn’t lead to consistent savings. To see substantial savings through the use of coupons, you need to have a consistent plan where you use them. Here are a few tips to help you find coupons so you can save money on things you really want to buy.
The Newspaper
Your Sunday newspaper is still a viable source for coupons. Although you may not find a lot of coupons with large discounts in the paper, no other source can beat the newspaper for sheer volume of discounts. You can increase the buying power of your newspaper coupons by finding a grocery store that has a double coupon day each week. I regularly buy several copies of the newspaper so I will have several of the same coupons to use so that I can build my stockpile.
At The Grocery Store
Many companies now make their coupons available in the grocery store. How’s that for convenience? While you’re doing your grocery shopping, pay special attention to those little plastic coupon dispensers. Make sure that you pick up coupons related to any of the products that you regularly purchase. You might even be able to save the coupon until the product is on sale for additional savings.
Visit The Company Website
Companies will do just about anything to get their customer’s demographic information. If there is a product that you particularly enjoy, or one that is particularly expensive, visit that company’s web page. Often, if you register your email address on their site, the company will send you special coupons or other offers. Don’t forget to check out if they have a Facebook page.
Product Packaging
To encourage consumers to make repeat purchases, manufacturers will sometimes place coupons on the product’s packaging. Look on the underside of labels for coupons that you can take with you on your next trip to the grocery store. Since the coupon was on a product you already purchased, you’ll already know if your family likes the product.
Entertainment Book
For useful coupons that are suited to your own locality, don’t forget to check out the annual “Entertainment Book.” These books are usually sold as fundraisers for schools, churches, or other groups. You can find coupons for everything from restaurants, retailers, and attractions in Entertainment Book.
Online Coupon Codes
Lastly, don’t forget to look for coupons whenever you shop online. I make it a habit to never purchase anything on line without seeing if there is a discount available. CouponSnapshot.com is a great resource when looking for the latest online coupon codes.
So what are your tips for scoring valuable coupons?

i just saw a tv program that had a great idea for online coupons. i think they said if you use a california zip code the coupons are worth more and you can use them any place in the usa. i also noticed most sales are the same time each month so write them down so you know when they go on sale. some stores have one thing on sale the 1 st week and others the second week and so on.
online searches tend to always score me discount coupons. I barely every look in the newspapers anymore.
The coupon books are a good idea and i like local papers also. They also have phone apps for smatrt phones that find coupons at the store your at or for poducts you want.
I really appreciate your post and you explain each and every point very well. Thanks for sharing this information. And I’ll love to read your next post too.

Valassis is a marketing company based here in Michigan, I know they are teaming up with some online coupon sites to increase offerings this year. Online coupons have been seriously lacking up until now.
