I’ve shared lots of ideas recently on inexpensive gift ideas. I’ve come up with a few more frugal gifts for those of you still shopping.
Board Games – With Amazon and Wal-Mart declaring a pricing war, you can get a wide array of board games for very little money. The classic game of Battleship is only $9; Sorry is only $10. Don’t forget to look at traditional card games like Uno, too. You can even give a board game as a gift to an entire family.
Skin or Nail Care Sets – Pick up a few items to create a tiny gift basket. Small bottles of lotion and some night-time gloves are great for skin care. Clippers, an emery board, and nail polish are perfect for nail care.
Christmas Ornaments – If you’re crafty, by all means, take the time to create unique ornaments for the folks on your gift list. If you don’t have the time or skill to create your own, though, you can certainly pick up stylish, fun ornaments for a few dollars. As Christmas approaches, look for deep discounts on ornaments at Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. With the wide variety of ornaments stocked in these stores, you are certain to be able to find something that suits your intended recipients’ personalities.
Movie Favorites – Older DVD’s (not new releases) are often sold at very cheap prices. Some are as inexpensive as $5. Look for fun movies that your recipient will enjoy in the bargain bins at Wal-Mart or check out discount sites like Overstock.com.
Bubble Bath or Bath Ball – These little luxury items remind your gift recipient to take a little time out for themselves. For around $5, you can give your loved one the gift of relaxation and indulgence. If you really want to pamper your recipient, offer to take her kids for a few hours to give her time to really relax.

I’d agree with the other commenter, and focus on the homemade stuff. Even if its a simple homemade Christmas card, I think they make for more lasting memories.
Photos and crafts make great frugal gifts. You can find nice frames for cheap if you look hard enough, and you can print your own photos.
These are reasonable ideas that allow you to still give and show you care for someone but at the same time still stay within your budget. If holiday spending leads one to overspend then it’s time to reassess. In this economy, our only insurance for reaching our goals is to save and live within our means.
