I know that your holiday shopping has probably monopolized most of the month of December, but I don’t want you to forget the great bargains that are waiting to be discovered this month. Whether you are hoping to round out your holiday shopping or find a treat or two for yourself, you can certainly find a reason to shop this month.
Toys, toys, toys! It’s no surprise that you can find a ton of different toys on sale during the weeks leading up to Christmas. Retailers will lower prices on many different toys to try to tempt you into shopping at their store over another store. Don’t forget, though, to return to the store during the week after Christmas. Many things make their way to the clearance section as soon as the holiday has passed.
Clothing for all ages. Winter clothing like sweaters and coats start hitting the clearance racks as soon as Christmas is over. You should shop quickly to enjoy the greatest selection.
Holiday items. The days after Christmas are filled with great deals on holiday décor items like holiday-themed dinnerware, outdoor lights, and wreaths. We almost never buy Christmas decorations for use during the current year. By waiting until the last week of December we are able to buy the items we like for pennies on the dollar; we put them away, then, and use them the following year.
Winter crafts. Because we like to work on “projects” (as my kids call them) in our house, we are always looking for inexpensive craft supplies. You can find a wide array of winter craft items on sale during December. Fleece fabric, batting, and flannel quilt kits are all on sale during this time. Rather than spending the rest of the winter parked in front of the television, we get to enjoy creating unique items from our sale-priced finds.
Christmas Candy. Specially-wrapped candies that are holiday specific will also go on sale as soon as the holiday has passed. I like to buy the candies that I will use in baking projects at this time. I don’t care that the chocolate kisses that adorn my peanut butter cookies used to be wrapped in red and green foil; I just want a good price for them. These candies also make great treats for the kids when Valentine’s Day rolls around.

This is my first year of really scouring the internet for deals on stuff during December. Now, I am strictly speaking about internet sales and not B & M sales.
The trend I’ve noticed is that there were a ton of good deals leading up to, during and shortly after Black Friday. Since then, everything seems to have dried up.
I am assuming it will stay this way till after Christmas, where you will see a spike in sales on lots of stuff, especially Christmas related items.
