Does the idea of creating a family budget stress you out? If you avoid the topic of budgeting because you don’t want to stress about money, I have some good news for you. Having a budget doesn’t cause stress. In fact, my experience has been that having a family budget can actually eliminate some of the stress from your life.
Having a budget isn’t going to solve all of your money problems, but it can certainly make them more manageable. If you and your spouse will both get together to create a family budget each month, you’ll find that money issues don’t scare you so much. I might even argue that when you consider the following points, creating a budget actually lowers your stress level.
Everyone gets a vote in a family budget. When one person handles the money (or no one handles it), many little money problems crop up. One person ends up feeling like the weight of the world is his shoulders. The other person finds himself resenting the person who makes the money decisions. However, if you create a family budget together you can eliminate this divisive atmosphere. The two of you will have the opportunity to discuss your plans each month and decide together what you will do with your money.
Having a family budget allows you to take action. I’m convinced that a lot of the stress from money problems hinges from the idea of feeling like you’re powerless. Creating a spending plan for your family, however, can give you power. I promise you that just developing a plan to tackle your finances will make you feel better about your situation.
Creating a family budget will help your income go further. When you’re paying attention to the way you spend your money, you stop buying frivolous things that you don’t need. You also start analyzing each purchase to make sure that you’re not spending more than you need to. As you get more out of your money, you’ll find that some of the stress of dealing your money will go away.

The article, “How a Family Budget Can Help Alleviate Stress” is an excellent one. A realistic family spending plan which allows each member to participate can reduce stress and improve relationships. My website is http://www.hizmoney.com Yes having a family budget will not solve every money problem but is certainly a start. Thanks!
YES! Having a budget doesn’t create stress, it reduces it! It’s just another one of the small things each of us can do to regain control of our finances and consequently, our lives. Just like I read in The Power of Small book, our smallest actions can have a huge impact on our lives. Nothing could be more applicable to our personal finances. Don’t you think?
I definitely agree about stress levels and budgeting. Once you actually have a working budget, it’s easier. You know how much you have allotted for various items. You don’t have to wonder whether you should or whether you can afford it. You know. Simple. And if everyone knows the budget, there’s less nagging, pleading and especially resentment.
