Netflix won't allow you to reach a $1 per rental price point easily. They will throttle your account. Blockbuster, same thing. While YMMV, month to month, but these by-mail services target something between $1 and $2 per DVD price point.

At least Redbox is being straight up honest about what you will get for your money, and it is al-la cart. Don't rent that night, don't pay.

Any "All-you-can-eat" buffet pays to feed some of their customers, the ones that don't eat so much make up for it. Sadly, perhap, Netflix/Blockbuster want their cake and to eat it too. If you eat too fast for their tastes, then it's just a simple matter of their computers declaring "no more soup for you". But, they will surely keep taking the money from those that don't eat as much.

From everything I've seen, NF/BB will not allow a customer to pay less than $1.25/Title viewed.

we use Netflix, because the selection can't be beat for foreign, classic, and indie films. but if you want the cheapest, check out the DVD selection at your local library. ours is $1/week, and $1 every day it's late. that part is kind of steep, but i tell myself it's a way of supporting my library.

Netlfix always finds a way to squeeze more money from you and makes it difficult for you to cancel. Don't let Netflix take advantage of you. Hulu, Redbox and all the stremain programs are cheaper, better options...

Netflix has a 1 movie at a time option for $4.99 a month. It limits you to 2 DVDs a month.
