Inexpensive Valentine Gifts

Coming up with an idea for your loved one’s Valentine’s Day gift can be tough, especially if you’ve been together for awhile. Finding an inexpensive gift can be even harder, though. You need a gift idea that will give the recipient an idea how special he or she is without doing any permanent damage to your pocketbook.

Fortunately, if you take a little time to really think about your loved one and his likes and dislikes, you will find the perfect gift for him. Your gift doesn’t have to be extravagant; it just has to show that you pay attention. Consider these ideas to get you started:

A New DVD – Does your sweetie love romantic movies? Maybe your husband gets into action flicks. Everyone loves a movie of some type. Choose one that you haven’t seen yet, dim the lights, and pop some popcorn for an inexpensive Valentine’s Day movie night.

A New CD – A copy of your valentine’s favorite band’s latest release is sure to be a hit this Valentine’s Day. Even after Valentine’s Day has passed your loved one will still be able to enjoy your gift as he drives to and from work. That’s the gift that keeps on giving.

A Gadget to Make Life Easier – How many times have you heard your guy fuss about the tangle of cords behind his computer? You can make maintaining his computer easier with the gift of some inexpensive reels for his computer cables. Does your girl hate digging through the closet to find her favorite sweater? A hanging organizer for her closet can make getting ready for work a breeze each morning. Your sweetheart will really appreciate your effort to make his life simpler.

Gourmet Treats – Whether your loved one enjoys rich chocolates or a tasty steak, his favorite treat is sure to be a huge hit on this Valentine’s Day. A small box of fancy candies can go a long way. Check the foods section of discount stores like TJ Maxx or Marshall’s for unique brands of food. If steaks are on your shopping list, you can always look for specials with mail order companies like Schwann’s or the Omaha Steak Company

The best insurance for gifts that I have given my wife on Valentine’s Day have been things that I have made myself… things I have written, especially. I love to get her something else, as well, but the things that lead her to well up seem to be the ones that require more time than money.
