Thankfully, we survived tropical storm Fay. We received over 15 inches of rain in a 2-day period. The weather was really nasty, lots of wind and rain, but our neighborhood did not flood. Today the sun is out and the heat actually feels wonderful compared to the dismal gloom we experienced this past week. Hopefully we won’t see any more tropical storms for a while. On to this week’s roundup:
I enjoyed the following posts this week from the Frugal Blog Network:
Tight Fisted Miser discusses driving at 55 mph to save money on gas. Almost Frugal shares some wonderful ideas on how to save money in your home office. Frugal Babe asks the question, “do you need a car?” With four children, we definitely need a van for transportation.
Not Made of Money participated in the Carnival of Personal Finance this past week hosted at Everyday Finance. Here are my favorite articles from the carnival:
Not The Jet Set shared The HDTV Challenge: Update 4. They purchased their new HDTV without going into debt.
Living Well On Less tells how basic budgeting can help you lose weight.

Thanks for the link, Dana! Though it’s been interesting watching coverage of Fay in HD, it still pales in comparison to what you’ve gone through. What a crazy time.
