I was so glad that we bought a few extra rolls of wrapping this time last year when they were super cheap. My husband and I didn't have to buy a single thing this Christmas except for the gifts, which we kept pretty small. It looks like we even have enough paper left for next year -- thanks in part to our small gifts and small gift list.

We were really looking forward to breaking even this month, but of course, we still ended up spending about as much as last year. One of our kitties ate some ribbon and got very sick (costing us nearly a grand). Oh well. Maybe next year we'll break even.

In the meantime, I'm even more glad that we didn't overspend on gifts and decorations.
