Saving On A Family Trip, Dump The TV, Christmas Shopping Early – My Carnival Picks

I was reading the Carnival of Personal Finance #110 this morning and found quite a few good articles dealing with frugal living.

Frugal Finance details 10 tips on saving money on a family trip. I agree that bringing your own snacks is a great way to save money while traveling.

Saving Advice gives a good argument for dumping the TV altogether.

FILAM Personal Finance writes “Doing Christmas Shopping Early and The 5 Laws of Retail Negotiation.” A topic near and dear to my heart that when it comes to shopping -timing is everything!

Thanks for the mention. While I’m not a “TV is evil” person, I do believe that most of us watch more than we should out of laziness (including myself) and it’s important to realize it costs us money. I certainly don’t regret my decision.
