With the heat of Summer here, my kids are always wanting a cool treat. My solution to keep them happy while still keeping the grocery costs down is to make homemade popsicles. I purchased a couple of popsicle molds at the dollar store and I have an assortment of ways that I make the popsicles.
1. Orange juice popsicles. I fill the popsicle molds with orange juice. These taste wonderful! Sometimes I mix frozen orange juice concentrate with lemonade concentrate (adding the appropriate amounts of water) and make my popsicles with this mixture.
2. Kool-Aid or fruit punch popsicle. I try to buy any mix that is on sale. Sometimes we combine different punch or kool-aid flavors. Kids love to experiment with their favorite flavors!
3. A juice and fruit pop. You make these by using the blender and mixing orange juice with either canned/drained peaches or pears and then putting the mix into the popsicle molds. I’ve even heard of people making popsicles from the leftover juice from canned fruit.
