If Your Car Breaks Down Today Do You Know Who You Would Have Make The Repairs?

By Dana Joseph

We are big advocates for planning in advance. Our van is several years old now and is no longer under warranty. Last year we went through a repair spree where nearly every month the van was in the shop needing something to be fixed. It happens to all cars sooner or later and it is much easier to know who you would take your vehicle to for repairs before the car breaks down.

We use a local repair shop that is run by a man who left a larger repair shop and started his own business. We’ve been extremely pleased with this shop and feel very confident that when we bring our vehicle in for repairs we are going to receive good service at a competitive price. We tried another shop that was actually closer to our home but they failed to properly diagnose the car problems and so we wound up returning several times to get the car fixed. In the end, we decided the shop that was further away was worth the drive to have the vehicle serviced correctly.

My advice is to ask friends and family for recommendations and then check the shop out before you actually need repairs. That way you will have your plan in place if you need to have your car serviced.
