I made a trip to the local dollar store today and was amazed to find some wonderful garden
decor items, just perfect for spring decorating.
1. Wooden wind twister. This is multicolored and is made out of small wood sticks. It hangs up outside and then you twist it to make a spiral. The wind turns it every which way. This is a favorite with the kids. I also found plastic colored wind twisters in purple, pink, and green.
2. Vegetable and flower seed packets. The seed packets are 10 for $1.00. I purchased seed packets for turnips, carrots, lettuce, pumpkins, marigolds, asters, parsley, cucumbers, squash, and radishes. They had large packets of assorted flowers too.
3. Gardening accessories. A large assortment of gardening aids including gloves, hose nozzles, metal garden decorative edging, metal decorative stakes, how to gardening DVDs, and clay colored plastic pots.
4. An assortment of clay pots. I found quite a few with hand painted garden scenes like ladybugs, frogs, and flowers.
5. Garden stepping stones with sundial themes. Perfect for making a little path to your garden.
6. Paper lanterns. I found these in a variety of colors including blue, pink, orange, and green. They really do light up too.
7. Garden themed flags. I saw quite a few different flags including ones with flowers, frogs, a spring theme, and a pineapple.
8. Copper wind chimes. I was really surprised to find these at my dollar store. These looked to be of a fairly good quality that would last for a while. The sound they made was really nice. There were other copper accessories including sun and moon designs.
9. Silk floral garlands. There were many to choose from with an assortment of colors including rose, fushia, pink, and yellow. Perfect for draping over window treatments.
10. Spring themed door hanger. This would be perfect to hang on the
front door. There were lots more to choose from including designs with flowers, sunflowers, or ladybugs.
