Last week I purchased the Hot Wheels Extreme Cycle as a gift. I paid $34.99 plus tax for it at Target. In yesterday’s Target sale ad, this same cycle was advertised at $18! Eeek! So I took my receipt to my Target, and went to the customer service department. I explained to them that I purchased this cycle in the last week, showed them my receipt, and told them this cycle is now on sale for $18. They refunded me the difference! I think Target’s policy is that if an item goes on sale within 2 weeks of the purchase date, they will give you the sale price. Otherwise, I was prepared to return the cycle and get the full refund of the purchase price of $34.99 (plus tax) and then re-buy it at the lower price. Glad I didn’t have to do that as I had already wrapped the gift.Â
Lessons learned: Always keep receipts. Continue to check sale prices.Â
