I’ve been looking for some clothing for one of my children, who doesn’t like to wear anything that has buttons, is scratchy, etc. I do not shop at the mall and so I’ve never even been in the speciality clothing stores for children, Gymboree or The Children’s Place.  I decided yesterday to check out these stores simply to see the quality of their clothing, get an idea of their styles, and if these brands are something that would be acceptable.Â
I haven’t shopped full price for kids clothing in so long, that I was really shocked at the sticker prices. Holy cow! I looked at the current clothing fashions as well as the clearance rack, which even at 20% off was high priced. I was able to get a good idea of the type of clothing, how it is made, and the styles.Â
I came home and went online to the ebay website. I’ve never shopped for kids clothing on ebay before but I have heard that good bargains can be found. Sure enough, I saw lots of clothing from Gymboree and The Children’s Place, all at substantially discounted prices. Some of these are even new with tags! Â
I set up some alerts to notify me when new items were being auctioned that fit with the size requirements and type of clothing that I am looking for. I made the alerts very specific including the brand name; the collection name such as Snow Blossom, Park City Luxe, Princess Snow Drop, Fairy Tale, etc.; and the size I am looking for. I included the current size as well as the next size so that if any of these become available for bid, I’ll be notified.Â
I even noticed some lots of children’s clothing being auctioned off for under $10 to include shipping. It is just like finding a garage sale with the stuff you are looking for, with the added benefit that you don’t need to give up your Saturday driving the local neighborhood sales!
