I mentioned before that we emphasize traditions with our children, and these are not things that cost a lot of money.  What better tradition than cookie baking? I have a few of my own favorites, but here are some of the best recipes for christmas cookies that I’ve found.

Snickerdoodles:  My favorite!   These cookies do not last long in our house.  I have found that making a double batch and freezing some helps them to stay around longer.

Gingerbread Men:  These are fun to make and of course, fun to eat as well.  The whole house smells like gingerbread with this recipe.

Fudge:  This homemade recipe looks much easier than the one I’ve used in the past that required a candy thermometer.

Christmas Cutout Sugar Cookies:  A traditional sugar cookie recipe for using cookie cutters.  Make bells, Christmas trees, stockings, and then decorate in holiday colored icing.  Sprinkles are fun to add to these too!

Almond Cookies:  There is just something about an almond cookie at Christmas time.  Probably, because my own mother baked almond cookies during the holiday season!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Crispy Balls:   Easy to make recipe and combines 2 great classic cookie flavors – chocolate and peanut butter!
