I take my type-v in the shower everyday, as I need to answer calls while at work (I get to shower on company time so I can't complain!) and have dropped it on the hard tile a couple times, and I answer and dial out on the phone with the shower water splashing all over it. Phone working like a charm after 3 months of abuse! I've done all the dangerous stuff already - turned on the spotlight, then plunked it into a kitchen sink, and started taking photos underwater, then dialed out, took the phone out of the water, shaked out the excess water and started talking.

Great phone!

Purchased the type-v for construction hubby. Yesterday it got covered in concrete... rinsed it off with a hose on the site, still works! Didn't even have time to completely dry and a call came it - no problems - love it!

Not as tough as they claim, and that is an understatement. POS is more like it. During the first month I had it, the case cracked around the antenna. This was due to a 1 1/2 foot fall from my coffee table onto tile because I had it on vibrate, someone called and it vibrated itself off onto the floor. Cracked way too easy, but hey the phone still worked great.....fast forward 2 more months till 18 july 07, (got the phone in April 07) the mike stopped working. The phone rings, I can hear the people who are calling, but they can't hear me. Tried recording something with it and the mike is definately toast. Some much for tough. I wasn't abusive to this phone. My crappy old motorola took a lot more punishment than this, and I hated that phone. I loved the G'Z one until it died. Got great signal strength and was plenty loud. The camera was AWESOME. However, no workie workie no more. Don't buy it.
