Black Friday is approaching rapidly.  For those who do not know, Black Friday is the Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day.  A huge shopping day in the U.S.  It is called Black Friday because for many retailers it is the day their profits run “in the black”, and is considered the start of the Christmas shopping season.

I got into the Black Friday deal mind set a few years ago.  The ads for Black Friday sales are put into the paper on Thanksgiving day but usually the sale ads are leaked out ahead of time, much to the chagrin of the stores.  It has become a type of game for shoppers to find out ahead of time who is having what on sale.

I have not seen any of the 2006 deals yet.  I have been checking the usual message boards.  One thing I have noticed from the past few years is that typically my Target store will have lots in stock of whatever items that will be on sale for the Black Friday sale.  Those items are usually piled up high in the regular toy aisles, but on the very top of the shelves.  I was taking a look today and I saw quite a few things that I think are going to be on Target’s Black Friday Sale list.  (Hint:  I saw a lot of the newborn Cabbage patch dolls, Easy Bake Ovens, and The Disney Scene It games!)  I guess I will find out in a couple of weeks if I am right or not..
