Looks like my hurricane preparations post from last week was done in the nick of time. The weather service is reporting that there is a tropical depression (expected to become Alberto) in the gulf. At this point, it is predicted to bring lots of heavy rainfall to Florida in the next couple of days. We need the rain so that is a good thing. I’ll bet all the local stores will have their “hurricane stuff” on an aisle out front since everyone will be stocking up. Batteries get pretty scarce around here when storms are approaching. I sure hope this is not an indicator of what we have coming this Summer (i.e. lots of storms). We had some water damage to our carpets with the hurricanes 2 years ago and it was very difficult to find someone to come out and fix it. There were just too many people needing repairs and not enough folks providing the services. We’ve learned to do some repairs ourselves, but it is really difficult to get much accomplished when you have 3 kids watching your every move.
