That was what we spent last month on eating out. Yes, $28.12. It was for 4 trips to McDonald’s (1 time per week) at $7.03 per visit (3 happy meals for the kids). All of our other meals are made at home. I was able to get to the exact amount because we use Quicken software and by running a monthly report, I can retrieve the amount spent by any category. There was a poll running on another blog yesterday which posed the question “How many times do you eat out per month? (I tried to remember whose blog was running that poll but the name of it escapes me now). When we were first married, we literally would spend hundreds of dollars on eating out. We both worked full time, so there wasn’t much time for cooking. When I left my full time job years ago and we needed to make it on one income, our dining out budget went to $0, and I learned how to cook. I am proud to say that I am now a much better cook than I was those first few years.
